General ALSC: The John Newbery Medal: Official home page of the Newbery Medal. It is awarded annually by the Association for Library Service to Children, a division of the American Library Association, to the author of the most distinguished contribution to American literature for children. Lesson Exchange: Newbery Award Reading Project: This is a wonderful way to monitor, and have students reflect on, what they are reading. Newbery Award Winning Books: In this Web Quest students will chose to be a member of either the Newbery Medal Committee for one year. It will be their job to explain to a group of younger children how and why they selected the winning title that year, and then they will share that book with the children. Newberys & the Net: Thematic Technology Connections: This site by Annette Lamb, provides suggested links for many Newbery Award books that “provide ways to extend, expand, and enhance these classics. Each Newbery book page contains the title, author, award date, grade level, and topics covered.
