The state has formalized a process by which school districts can borrow money under the umbrella of the state’s AAA bond rating.
Recently, Canton and Bridgewater-Emery both used this process. Because of the better rate, Canton saved approximately $100,000, and Bridgewater-Emery saved approximately $75,000.
If your school district is looking into any bonding in the near future, please look at using this process. Questions can be directed to Don Templeton or Dustin Christopherson at the South Dakota Health & Education Facilities Authority. The number is (605) 224-9200.
