Background: In January and February, Governor Daugaard committed Future Fund grants to secondary and postsecondary Career & Technical Education (CTE) programs. The update will highlight the equipment grants to the Technical Institutes, critical need scholarships in workforce priority areas and Governor’s Grants for CTE to 12 secondary school districts.

Background: Currently each technical institute remits $3 per credit hour to the state for Maintenance and Repair (M&R). All of the collected fees are pooled and distributed to a technical institute with high need. In order to best maintain local facilities annually and ensure adequate investment is made, a new process is being proposed. In addition, the M&R fee for 2014-15 must be set
