Bringing Native American culture into your classroom The Oceti Sakowin Essential Understandings and Standards are state content standards intended to help guide South Dakota K-12 educators in teaching Native American history and culture. State Library e-resources offer more than ever The South Dakota State Library announces access to a suite of Ebsco databases at no charge to all South Dakota schools. This includes general and scholarly e-resources, such as Academic Search Premier, and subject-specific e-resources including health and business. Ebsco’s new Explora is designed for K-12 student and educator research. |

School libraries have a unique opportunity to join with thousands of other libraries and schools around the country to read the same book to as many kids as possible. This year’s selection is “The Bear Ate Your Sandwich.” A limited number of free books are still available for order from the State Library. |
